Becki Newton

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up at Guilford, Connecticut. She's of English and Czech origin and started performing productions, plays and musicals in local theaters. She later studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned an B.A. In European History. Newton was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Penn. Newton relocated in New York City after graduation and started working on TV commercials. Some of them were for Olive Garden. Newton was Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Newton hosted the Official Ugly Betty radio show along alongside her co-star Michael Urie. Newton was also featured in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of webisodes. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010, after four years of successful programming, and the show was able to be given a full-on series end. Newton performed at NewYork City Center's Encores show in the late 2009. presentation of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. She played Molly Gray opposite her real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton starred in the television show Love Bites. Cindy Chupack created the hour-long romantic comedies. She worked as an executive producer on Sex and the City. NBC announced the pick up of the show in May 2010.However, with Newton having announced her pregnancy co-star Jordana Spiro was contractually bound to stay with her other project My Boys (which later was later cancelled) and Chupack's desire to end the series, Love Bites was pushed back to midseason.
